Dan was a combat-decorated F/A-18 carrier pilot and seasoned flight instructor before he went to medical school and became a doctor. He has more than 25 years of aviation experience and remains as passionate about flying today as when he first got behind the controls of an airplane. He retired from the Navy in 2024 and lives in San Diego where he practices medicine and flies whenever he can.
Dan started his career in the U.S. Navy and has more than 2500 flight hours including combat service in the F/A-18. He has been a commercial pilot for more than 20 years and a certified flight instructor for single engine, multi-engine, and instrument flight. Dan is also an FAA Senior HIMS AME who is board certified in Family Medicine and Aerospace Medicine.
