Yes. San Diego Sky Tours is one of the only tour companies in the country authorized for formation flying!

Afternoon is best to avoid coastal clouds and for optimal pilot availability. However, we will do our best to accommodate your desired time!

Our single passenger BIPLANES have a minimum age of 9 years old. There is no age limit for our multi-passenger aircraft. We do require that each guest has the mobility/flexibility to enter/exit each aircraft with minimum assistance.

Our single passenger BIPLANES have a maximum weight limit of 250 LBS per passenger. Our MULTI-PASSENGER aircraft (up to 5 guests) has a maximum weight restriction of 1200 LBS.

Most of our tours have a flight time of approximately 30 minutes. AEROBATIC and AIR COMBAT experiences are approximately 45 minutes. However, uncontrollable factors such as weather and airspace saturation can have an affect on duration.

Please arrive 15 minute prior to your scheduled tour time.

We will meet you at EXECUTIVE AIR PARK, 3717John J. Montgomery Drive, San Diego CA 92123. This is a public building referred to as a Fixed Base Operator (FBO) for general aviation use. It is a brown brick building that also houses a flight school and flying club. Please wait at the round cement picnic tables under the over-hang out front. One of our staff will greet you there to escort you through the security gates to our hangar.

Come as you are! During winter months a sweatshirt or jacket won’t hurt, but all of our aircraft have heaters.

(1) hour should be sufficient for most of our tours. If you have booked the AEROBATICS package plan on (1.5) hours. If you have booked the AIR COMBAT experience plan on (2) hours.

YES! we have secure lockers on site in our hangar.

YES! We are happy to have your friends and family along to share in the adventure.  They can wait in our hangar while you fly and be there for all the ground based preflight experience. 

INDEED! Most of our tour pilots are former military. ALL of our pilots are professional instructor pilots or major airline and charter pilots.  We literally have some of the most experienced pilots in the world on our staff. We have a continuous training program ensuring all of our pilots meet and exceed currency requirements set by the FAA.  All of our pilots have at least a 2nd class medical and are enrolled in an FAA drug testing program.

YES! We wouldn’t be excited to come to work everyday if they weren’t. We have certified Inspection Authorized mechanics that attend to all of our aircraft. Our mechanics are enrolled in a drug testing program. We meet and exceed all FAA mandated inspections.  When we’re not flying the general public we use these same airplanes to fly with our own family and friends! 

We will notify you as soon as it is determined by our trained staff of any weather related issues.  SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT and we will never fly if there is any doubt. 

You pick the date and time and we’ll schedule for a future flight! We are not in the business of taking your hard earned money without providing the product you paid for.

This is based on pilot/plane availability. We will make every effort to do so. However, we can only guarantee tours at the same time if you book the Formation Tour or the Air Combat experience. Both of these tours are sold with (2) planes/pilots to be flown together.
